day 1 LONDON/STONEHENGE/SALISBURY
Welcome to England. We’ll pick you up at Heathrow Airport and head to the ancient site of Stonehenge. Stay nearby in quaint Salisbury, known for its exquisite cathedral.
DAY 2 BATH/CARDIFF
Your exploration begins with a visit to the Roman Baths and time to see the Regency city favored by Jane Austen. Continue to the capital of Wales, a seaside city which is easily explored on foot. The museum here contains the largest collection of impressionist works outside of Paris. (B)
DAY 3 CARDIFF/SWANSEA GOWER EXCURSION
Travel along the south coast to Swansea, home to poet Dylan Thomas and Catherine Zeta-Jones See Swansea Bay with its golden sands, and Mumbles village with its Victorian Pier and lighthouse. The golden Gower Peninsula has an abundance of beaches and coves. See the Waterfront Museum. (B)
DAY 4 BRECON BEACONS/RUTHIN
The Brecon Beacons is a stunning mountainous region, where the green hills yield the remains of old coal mines. Travel through mid-Wales to the half-timbered village of Ruthin, where you stay in a genuine castle. (B)
DAY 5 SNOWDONIA NORTH WALES
Pass Betws-y-Coed, set in the inspirational landscape of Snowdonia. Take the train in Blaenau Ffestiniog, the center of the slate industry in Wales. End your day in Conwy, known for its mighty castle . (B)
DAY 6 COTSWOLDS
Travel along the North Wales coast to the English borders. You visit Stratford-upon-Avon, home of the bard, and the site of the charming thatched house of his wife, Anne Hathaway. Drive along the winding lanes of the quaint Cotswolds, known for its cottage gardens and honey colored stone houses. (B)
DAY 7 COTSWOLDS
Spend your day haunting antique shops, pretty villages, and ancient architecture. See Bibury, the village once described by William Morris as 'the most beautiful village in the Cotswolds'. (B)
DAY 8 HEADING HOME
You bid your fond farewell to England as you travel to Heathrow Airport for your return flight home. Extensions in London are available. (B)
