Day 1 - DUBLIN - STATELY HOMES AND GARDENS
A lilting Irish accent greets you in Dublin, where your tour begins. Late
afternoon visit to Russborough House, the former home of Sir Alfred and Lady
Beit. Their art collection is renowned throughout Europe. Your home this
evening is the elegant Merrion Hotel.
Day 2 - DUBLIN - IRELAND HISTORY & RELIGION - IRISH ENTERTAINMENT
Tour the Dublin area visiting such sights as Trinity College, founded in the
fifteenth century and home to the illuminated "Book of Kells", and
Dublin Castle. Visit Marsh's Library, associated with Jonathan Swift and the
Brazen Head Pub, a favorite haunt of Irish writers. Visit Knowth, the Stone-Age
burial site in the Boyne Valley, and Monasterboice, known for its high Celtic
crosses. Optional: Dinner and entertainment with storytelling

Day 3- KILKENNY/WATERFORD - HORSES,
CRYSTAL AND CASTLES Travel through Kildare, the horse-breeding center of
Ireland , where you visit the National Stud Farm. Then you are off to medieval
Kilkenny, whose castle is both Tudor and Gothic. Visit the Waterford
Treasuries, which contain some of the most historic items in Ireland, taking
you from the wedding of Aoife and Strongbow to a Georgian society ball. The
collection includes bronze, silver, gold and old Waterford glass. Travel by
ferry to Waterford Castle, built on its own private island (310 acres) by the
Fitzgerald family around the time of the Norman Invasion. (B)
Day 4 - BLARNEY/CORK - CRYSTAL AND SHOPPING
Tour the Waterford Glass Factory showroom, known for its distinctive crystal.
Travel the coastal route through Dungarvan and Youghal, an historic walled port
and seaside resort. Its famous residents included Sir Walter Raleigh and Oliver
Cromwell. Your tour would not be complete without a stop at Blarney Castle to
gain "the gift of the gab". Blarney is also recommended for shopping
at the Woollen Mills. (B)
Day 5 - KINSALE/KENMARE -SEASCAPES AND SCENIC VISTAS
Travel on to the quaint seaport of Kinsale, the jewel of Cork, with its cobbled
streets and harbor where colorful yachts moor. West Cork is recognized for its
natural beauty, with green hillsides reaching the water's edge. Your deluxe
hotel awaits in the lovely 19th century market town of Kenmare. Suggested:
Dinner at the Lime Tree Restaurant in the local schoolhouse. (B)
Day 6 - DINGLE TOUR OR SKELLIG ISLANDS - BIRDWATCHING
We drive along the Kerry Coast to the Dingle Peninsula, one of the natural
wonders of Ireland and introduced to the world in "Ryan's Daughter".
We'll see the mysterious beehive huts (or stone igloos) en route to Slea Head
for a view of the Blasket Islands and Dunmore Head, the westernmost point in
Europe. Surround your senses in the legendary lands of the Dingle, with the
Slieve Mish Mountains, beaches, coves, and coastal scenes, striking in their
beauty. Enjoy an boat trip to see the puffin and gannet islands. Return to the
Park Hotel, with its superb restaurant. (B)
Day 7 -
ADARE/LIMERICK/NEWMARKET-ON-FERGUS -FLYING BOATS Visit the charming town of
Adare with its authentic thatched cottages, and the Flying Boat Museum at
Foynes. Located on King's Island, the 13th century King John's Castle
interprets 800 years of Limerick's and Ireland's history, with its excavated
pre-Norman house, fortifications and siege mines. Your fairytale home is
Dromoland Castle, the former home of the Earls of Inchiquin. Dromoland Castle
saw almost 400 years as the ancestral home of the O'Brien clan. The sumptuous,
ornate drawing room is an ideal haven for morning coffee and afternoon tea. Up
the grand staircase are found the hotel's premier rooms and luxurious suites
and a portrait gallery of past incumbents of the estate. Smaller cozy room are
located round a courtyard in the castle's oldest part (1736) and have the same
lavish amenities: robes, slippers, masses of toiletries, fruit bowl, and a
decanter of Irish Mist. Fishing, horse riding, and bird shooting can be
arranged nearby, and tennis court and Dromoland's golf course are here for you
to use. In the book lined bar, guests often settle after dinner to join in the
singing of popular Irish ballads. (B)
Day 8 - SHANNON
After breakfast you depart for Shannon Airport with ample time to duty-free
shop before boarding your return flight home. Head homeward with great memories
of new found friends .(B)
