Be sure to arrive hungry: this lunchtime tour kicks off in the late morning, and includes a number of samples. Try local cheeses and chocolates, drop by bakeries and food halls, and head off the tourist trail when you visit venues that locals love. As you go, learn more about Ireland’s gastronomic history.

Saturday-KILKENNY/WATERFORD-HORSES AND CRYSTAL
Travel through Kildare, the horse-breeding center of Ireland, where you visit the National Stud Farm. Step behind the stable door and see Ireland’s finest thoroughbreds and their youngest sports stars. Then, you are off to medieval Kilkenny, whose castle is both tudor and gothic. Tour the Waterford Exhibition Center, known for its distinctive crystal.
Sunday-CORK-WHISKY & A COOKING SCHOOL MEAL
Become a whisky expert at the Midleton Distillery, before stopping at Cobh, known as the last port of call for the Titanic, and for Irish immigration, too. Tonight, enjoy dinner at Ireland’s premier cooking school, Ballymaloe. The ingredients are locally sourced, taking freshness to a whole new level.
Monday-BLARNEY/KERRY-SEASCAPES AND SPA
Your tour would not be complete without a stop at Blarney Castle to gain "the gift of the gab", and shopping at the Woollen Mills. Your deluxe hotel and spa awaits in the town of Parknasilla, where green hillsides spill down to the water. Indulge in some “me” time here. (B)
Tuesday-SKELLIG ISLANDS-BIRDWATCHING
Surround your senses in the legendary lands of the Ring of Kerry with beaches, coves, and coastal scenes, striking in their beauty. Enjoy a boat trip to see the puffin and gannet islands with their UNESCO listed monastic ruins (weather permitting). Return to the charming town of Parknasilla. (B,D)

Wednesday-ADARE-FLYING BOATS AND THATCHED HOUSES
Travel via the lake-strewn town of Killarney, and then to the Flying Boat Museum at Foynes. Here, you enter an authentic Pan Am clipper from the glory days of trans-atlantic travel, and learn to make Irish coffee yourself. Our home tonight is the luxurious Dromoland Castle. (B,D)
Thursday- THE CLIFFS OF MOHER/ASHFORD CASTLE
Rising to almost 800ft from sea level, the Cliffs of Moher is a powerful location. Prepare to be amazed! You travel through Galway, known as the "City of the Tribes". Galway's Judge Lynch defined the term "lynching" when he sentenced his own son to hang here. Your home is Ashford Castle in Cong, fondly remembered as the setting for "The Quiet Man". (B)
Friday - ACHILL ISLAND/CONNEMARA EXCURSION
Cloud-capped mountains and seldom-trod roads line your route through Connemara. Experience Achill Island and the deserted famine village, marked by rugged mountains and peat bogs. See what drove the islanders to flee this area, and what they left behind. Return to Ashford Castle for our casual farewell dinner at Cullen's at The Cottage. (B,D)
Saturday - DUBLIN-STONE AGE HISTORY & CHRISTIANITY
Visit Knowth, the ancient Boyne Valley burial site, older than the Egyptian Pyramids. See Monasterboice, known for its intricate high Celtic crosses. Visit the ruined Trim Castle, too, where Braveheart was filmed. Storytelling dinner with an Irish seanachi (shanakee) tonight at the a traditional Dublin pub. (B,D)
Sunday-HOMEWARD FROM DUBLIN
