The Lynott Tours Difference

    • Marvel at the dark hedges from Game of Thrones
    • Stay at 17th century Ballygally Castle

Monday - DEPART FROM HOME Your vacation begins the moment you board your flight. Destination:DUBLIN.

Tuesday – DUBLIN/BELFAST Arrive in Dublin, which is short drive from Belfast. We welcome you to the Victorian capital of Northern Ireland where the Titanic was built in 1911. On our panoramic tour, we see the Falls Road, and the murals. Visit Titanic Belfast, an interactive museum which gives you an idea of what it was like to build the ship and the passenger experience, too. Tonight, we suggest you visit the authentic 19th century Crown Liquor Saloon, a restored national landmark. Choice of local eateries tonight.

Wednesday - ST PATRICK AND STATELY GARDENS Did you know St. Patrick was buried in Northern Ireland? The Saint Patrick Centre, beside Down Cathedral and Patrick's Grave, is dedicated to Ireland's patron saint. Discover the Irish Christian legacy of his missionary activity, metalwork and illuminated manuscripts. Travel via ferry to the scenic Ards Peninsula, to Mount Stewart House, Garden and Temple of the Winds. The house was home to a fascinating array of political leaders and society figures. The luxurious gardens have been restored to their glory. Stay at Ballygally Castle,
a stunning 17th century castle and home to the 9th Game of Throne door. (B,D)

NOTE: Ireland’s famous patron saint didn’t actually come from Ireland. Saint Patrick was taken prisoner from his family home in Britain by Irish raiders and was brought to Ireland to work as a shepherd. After Patrick escaped back to Britain, he had a vision from God telling him to return to Ireland as a missionary. He is now credited with introducing Christianity to Ireland.

Glens of AntrimThursday - THE HEDGES/GIANT'S CAUSEWAY Immerse yourself in the Game of Thrones, when you visit the Dark Hedges, the beautiful avenue of beech trees, representing the King's Road. Take the stunning coast road to visit the strange majesty and mystery at Giant's Causeway, an area of about 40,000 hexagonal volcanic basalt columns. Your imagination will travel along the stepping stones that lead into the mists and legends of the past. See the ruined medieval Dunluce Castle on its stunning cliff top location. Indulge in afternoon tea in Derry at the Beech Hill, known for Georgian elegance and gracious country living. (B,T)

Friday - WALKING TOUR OF DERRY/OMAGH EXCURSION Your guide will lead you on a walk (approximately 45 minutes) along the broad expanse of the most notable and historic feature of the city - the most complete city walls in Europe. Catholics lived outside the walls, and Protestants within. Pass the Victorian 1890 Guildhall, with its impressive stained glass windows. Next, pass small farm villages within sight of the Sperrin Mountains as you travel to the Ulster American Folk Park. Here, you book passage on a ship bound for America and emerge in a recreated Irish village of long ago. (B)

ArmaghSaturday - BELLEEK/ARMAGH/ BELFAST At the Belleek Pottery, shop for fine porcelain tastefully decorated with shamrocks or delicate trellis-like plates. Travel along Lough Erne. Discover the ancient ecclesiastical city of Armagh, the home to both Protestant and Catholic cathedrals. One of the sights you will see is Hillsborough Castle through its splendid wrought iron gates. Return to Belfast. (B)

Sunday - HOMEWARD FROM DUBLIN Marvel over this one-of-a-kind trip as you take the bus transfer to Dublin Airport, or take the train to Dublin's fair city. (B)
